The SNCB has 4 central workshops and 9 traction workshops. They are all managed by SNCB Technics. These workshops are of considerable importance for regional employment.
The workshops are responsible for the maintenance, repair and refurbishing of multiple units (MU), locomotives, railcars and carriages. Staff have detailed knowledge of cutting-edge technology. This specific knowledge is also appreciated by our external clients who entrust our workshops with the maintenance of their stock.
Our workshop staff strive daily to maintain the highest standards of safety, quality, punctuality and the availability of stock. This is of capital importance for the correct operation of the SNCB. The workshops have the required certificates with regard to safety and health (OHSAS 18001), quality (ISO 9001) and respect for the environment (ISO 14001).
