Travel by train to Rock Werchter

Belgium’s greatest summer music festival takes place from Thursday 29 June to Sunday 2 July. The Festivalpark in Werchter ticks all the boxes. Best line up? Oh, yes. Good food and drink? Check. Technical innovation and production? Top class. Comfort? Excellent. Tents as good as concert halls? You bet. Festival atmosphere? Through and through. Rock Werchter is a multiple award winning international hit. Close to 150,000 festival-goers found their way to Rock Werchter over the four days of the festival in 2016.

Practical information:

  • Your festival ticket entitles you to 1 FREE E-TRAIN TICKET to Rock Werchter. Your festival ticket is not valid as a train ticket.
  • You can order your e-train ticket as follows:
    - Download your SNCB code (beginning with the number 0 and the capital letter i) from www.ticketmaster.be/rw.
    - Download your e-train ticket.
    - Simply save your e-train ticket on your smartphone or tablet, or print it on A4 format paper.
  • Your e-train ticket Rock Werchter is valid:
    a) For 1 outward journey and 1 homeward journey in 2nd class from a Belgian departure station to:
    - LEUVEN station if you have a The Hive camping ticket or if you travel to the festival parc in the period of Wednesday 28/06/2017 until Monday 03/07/2017 included;
    - LEUVEN station if you have a Regular camping ticket A1, in the period of Thursday 29/06/2017 until Monday 03/07/2017 included.
    - AARSCHOT station if you have a Regular camping ticket C3 or C7, in the period of Thursday 29/06/2017 until Monday 03/07/2017 included.

    b) For the outbound and inbound lap by extra busses of De Lijn between:
    - LEUVEN station and the The Hive campsites or the festival parc from Wednesday 28/06/2017 as from 1 pm until Monday 03/07/2017 at 1 pm included;
    - LEUVEN station and the Regular campsite A1 from Thursday 29/06/2017 as from 6 am until Monday 03/07/2017 at 1 pm included.
    - AARSCHOT station and the Regular campsites C3 and C7 from Thursday 29/06/2017 as from 6 am until Monday 03/07/2017 at 1 pm included.
  • If you're departing from Brussels Airport - Zaventem station, you still need to purchase 2 Diabolo fee tickets: 1 for the outward and 1 for the homeward journey.
  • E-train tickets are always personal. You can't transfer them. Order your e-train ticket only if you are sure who will use it.
  • E-train tickets are not refundable, not exchangeable and they cannot be cancelled.

Extra trains

  • On Wednesday 28th of June, there will be a Party Train (PDF) for the outward journey from Oostende.
  • On Monday 3rd of July, 3 extra trains (PDF) will run for the homeward journey to Mechelen.
  • There are no extra night trains.

Festival goers from abroad

If your departure station is not in Belgium, you can combine your e-train ticket Rock Werchter with a transport ticket (outward and homeward journey) which is valid on the foreign railway network until the Belgian border. As from there the e-train ticket Rock Werchter is valid to Leuven or Aarschot station.

When downloading your e-train ticket, mention the first Belgian station as departure station. The first Belgian train stations are:
  • coming from The Netherlands: Essen (via Roosendaal) and Visé (via Maastricht – Eijsden);
  • coming from Germany: Hergenrath;
  • coming from the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg: Arlon, Athus and Gouvy;
  • coming from France: Mouscron, Froyennes, Quiévrain, Quévy and Erquelinnes.
