What does the Finance department do?

The Finance department has three main responsibilities:

  • managing cash and finances;
  • organising and keeping accounts;
  • management, revenue and expenditure control.

In the course of its work, the department provides regular financial data reports to SNCB's Management and ensures that the company complies with its statutory accounting and tax obligations.

It also works with SNCB's other departments, helping them, for example, to prepare operating budgets or even draw up management indicators.

Lastly, it provides the necessary funding for the company's activities, by taking out loans or investing any excess cash, on the most advantageous financial terms.
